The destiny of the Proud

Isaiah 2:12 “The Lord has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all the exalted”
A very sobering statement to think that for every proud heart, unbeknown to them is a day when they will be humbled. The paradox of life, as expressed by the Psalmist elsewhere is that the proud and arrogant almost seem to have a seamless life, without struggles and pain(Psalm 73), and at this thought, he almost slipped in his envy of them.

When he tried to understand this paradox, it became too oppressive for him, until he entered the sanctuary of God, then he understood “their final destiny” (Psalm 73:16-17) What was it that he understood? The day the Lord has in store for every proud and arrogant heart. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble
